Livraria Centésima Página | One Hundredth Page Bookshop | Braga

“If someone told me to write a book on morality, it would have a hundred pages and ninety-nine of them would be blank. On the last page I would write, “I recognize only one duty and that is to love.” And as far as everything else is concerned, I say no.”

Having its name from this quotation, this beautiful bookshop ( the prettiest one in the city), moved into this historic building, a visit is one step further into knowing the people through the books they are reading, looking through the shelves of  the bookshop might show something we wouldn’t buy anywhere else. Exhibitions, book presentations, readings, workshops, concerts, meetings a bit of all this can be found at this local bookshop. The cafeteria won’t disappoint you – from Monday to Friday check the bookshop menu, remember you are in Braga, there’s good food everywhere! At summertime the cafeteria moves to the garden in the back, the flowers and the trees will be surrounding you – it will be great to read a book.

Good morning José – what a lovely Camus quote. I’d never heard it before – and you’re lucky to live in a town where shops bear names that continually inspire residents and travellers passing through to live a good life.
    Best wishes
