Santa Barbara Garden | Jardim de Santa Bárbara | Braga

Do not expect a large garden – get ready to enjoy its Romantic style – walk slowly through its geometric layout – the old statues, cornices and coats of arms, the medieval arches are there to be enjoyed.

At its centre,  the garden has a fountain dating back the XVII century with Saint Barbara’s statue. The former archbishop’s palace is next to it – the flowers are always present, the smells are everywhere – this could be heaven – ideal to have a rest, to put your thoughts together, to take some photographs – very close to it you can enjoy a coffee and choose a pastry to go with it!

indeed it is quite small – always full of flowers regardless the season – a special place if you have played there as a kid or kissed someone for the first time – even if things went wrong afterwards! 😀

It looks like a special place… And about the things going wrong afterwards… I have plenty of experience there 😀

Beautiful… We have a Santa Barbara as well in California, but it looks nothing like this. Beautiful for its own reasons though.

I love the appreciation for indigenous species, my family is one of the few in California to have that 🙂
