Cuisine of Braga

Portugal is a small country, even so its culinary diversity is huge. Even the dishes we might consider as national cuisine such as codfish – bacalhau – become unique depending on the region, as a result of exclusive recipes and how each one prides on using them.
In Braga, the most famous local dishes are bacalhau à Narcisa ( Codfish au Narcisa), papas de sarrabulho and rojões à moda do Minho ( garlic wine marinate roasted pork chunks), arroz de pato à moda de Braga ( Braga-style duck rice) and frigideiras (special meat puff pastry). Pudim abade de Priscos (Portuguese bacon pudding), toucinho do céu, vieiras and fidalguinhos are the best known local desserts.
